Creativity with purpose.

At Fuqua, the arts are not an extracurricular afterthought. They are vital to how students discover confidence, discipline, expression, and leadership. From beginning instruction in the Lower School to award-winning performances and advanced opportunities in the Upper School, students are encouraged to create, perform, and participate in ways that shape who they become — both on stage and beyond it.

Music & Band

A defining student life experience.

Music is woven throughout the Fuqua fabric, beginning with foundational instruction and performance opportunities in the Lower School and growing into one of the school’s signature programs in the Upper School. Students progress through beginning, intermediate, and advanced ensembles while building musical skill, confidence, discipline, and teamwork through concerts, competitions, travel experiences, pep band performances, jazz ensembles, and community events. At Fuqua, music is more than a class — it is a defining part of the school’s culture and tradition.

Creativity helps shape character.
Visual Arts

Creativity helps shape character.

Thinking creatively and having artistic perspective drives the experiences of the youngest artists in the Lower School, where art teachers encourage students to develop their own talents using a variety of materials. As students progress, art becomes exploratory or elective, giving students the opportunity to review elements and principles of art and design through a study of varying styles. Students also explore and learn about a variety of media and become familiar with pivotal moments in art history.

Every student has a place in the spotlight.
THEATRE

Every student has a place in the spotlight.

Elective theatre classes (Grades 9–12) are a comprehensive academic, artistic, technical, and historical introduction to the performing arts. Students prepare and present productions for various occasions and audiences. While some students enjoy the spotlight of a leading role, others participate by utilizing their artistic, musical, or technical skills to successfully produce and sell a quality production.

From FUQUA families
“Fuqua is such a family. Teachers know students and families personally. If my child is struggling, they notice. If something changes, they reach out. You are never just a number here.”
